Kathleen Davis - Sr. Communications Leader
The Dow Chemical Company

I had the pleasure to work with Jason on many projects that enhanced the quality and delivery of strategic communications to a large group of people. Whether it was updating a current web site or the reconstruction of a web site with many elements, he took ownership and put his creativity and design mindset to work, to ensure it was logical, attractive and user friendly. I could always count on Jason to take control of a project and deliver exceptional quality, time and time again. Furthermore, he understands the value of building professional relationships and collaborating for success, both for himself and his clients. I was impressed by his maturity and know that he will continue to be the best in his endeavors.

Amy Ilstrup - Internal Communications & Community Relations Manager
Dow Water & Process Solutions, The Dow Chemical Company

Jason shows great initiative and support on developing highly innovative solutions for various projects. He is a critical thinker and persistent problem solver. His diligence and commitment to perfection means he consistently turns out high-quality work, oftentimes under tight deadlines.

One of the first projects I worked with him on involved a monthly newsletter. He reworked the newsletter from the ground up, creating a template that allowed for formatting consistency and easy layout for successive versions. He's responsive, collaborative and offers helpful suggestions for improvements, all of which ensures projects are completed professionally and in a timely manner.

Lindsey S. Martin - Public Affairs Representative
Dow AgroSciences, The Dow Chemical Company

Jason is a pleasure to work with. In October 2012, Dow AgroSciences went through a global rebrand. One of the projects that stemmed from this rebrand was the complete design overhaul of our company intranet. Jason was a key contributor in the successful transition from our former intranet design to the new intranet design. From template creation and training development to implementation of new templates and start-up tasks, Jason made himself available to address questions and concerns related to this transition.

Jason's work ethic is tireless and he is always willing to help. He is able to clearly articulate technical issues in a non-technical way to better communicate the message to those unfamiliar with the technical specifics. He is responsive to high priority needs and understands tight deadlines and requests.

Corey Bixby - Director of Marketing and Public Relations
Orion Construction

Over the years, Jason and I have collaborated on a number of different projects; some as separate contractors for a mutual client, some as joint ventures, and some as a sub-contractor for my clients. In every case, Jason has displayed great professionalism and competency as designer and developer. His creativity, strategic thinking, and punctuality are invaluable when providing exceptional service and completing tasks on time. Most importantly, his understanding of quality and his dedication to the end user/consumer allow him to see the bigger picture and channel that insight into every important detail of his workflow.

Chris Chamberlain - Vice President
Arnold Center, Inc.

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Hiles on a complete redesign of the Arnold Center's web site. I can recommend him highly and without reservation. Throughout the course of the project, Mr. Hiles proved to be an accomplished professional. He was accurate in his initial assessment of the scope, timeline and cost of our project. Throughout the project, he demonstrated vision, listing skill, initiative and flexibility. He was extremely knowledgeable about all facets of the project.

Diane Ward
Edward J. Farrell III Law Firm

Jason is very creative with his web designs, and does not produce "cookie cutter" online presence, nor does he try to fit his clients into pre-determined formats. Jason has the unique ability to effectively blend the clients ideas with proven techniques. His experience equips him to make good suggestions, yet he maintains the direction that the client wants to go. Another thing that we really appreciated was Jason's commitment to a traditional work ethic. That is becoming a rare thing and it's refreshing to find. We heartily recommend him!

Objectives & Skillsets

Problem-Solver

This is one of my cornerstones of professionalism. I approach problems with various trouble-shooting strategies and principles so that I can not only effectively identify the cause but propose a solution.

Self-Starter

My motivations always push me to delve into even the most fundamental aspects of whatever I am working on. There are always "gems" to be had from any project. Whether that is a customer service skill or a new tidbit of information I can add it to my knowledge base, I am always eager to discover new things.

"Feed him for a lifetime"

A popular Chinese proverb states, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.". I too hold the same value when contributing to my work environment for both my colleagues as well as my clients.

Adaptability

In my experience, businesses strive to evolve and streamline where they can. I view those strides as opportunities to gain more insight into new ways of accomplishing the tasks at hand as well as bringing myself up to speed to assist colleagues.

Cultivating Fulfilling Relationships

Success not only arises from great talent but from fulfilling relationships. Relationships help contribute different skillsets, objectivity, accountability, and different perceptions that would otherwise be unseen.

Sustainable Systems

Technology can be an effective tool when strategically applied to workflows and maintain consistency. I work towards that goal wherever possible. I fervently believe in creating sustainable systems to help the day-to-day tasks and focus on long-term aspirations.

Pokéball Battery Charger

This was a combination of a social media experiment along with a self-taught maker project. The site's background changes depending on whether or not it is 6p.m. or not - just as the app does. The day/night can be toggled at the bottom manually as well. I also created very faint particles that float around ranodmly, again just as the app does, to help envelop the viewer into the UI experience.

The scope of this project was redesigning of the site to enable more seamless content creation without having the webmaster needing to implement the updates. Thus, a WordPress infrastructure was used with a group-up theme and tailored widgets. This enabled 811 Foundation to function day-to-day with much more freedom than its previous site and was a great success.
